Zvíkov pie - recipe

So this is what a feast may have looked like at Zvíkov Castle. There's a danger that if you try one piece of this sweet apple pie with nuts and raisins, you'll just want another, and another... So a good idea is to divide each slice in two - or bake two pies!
Ingredients:
| 500 g apples 300 g sugar + 2-3 spoonfuls to sprinkle over the apples 500 g wholemeal flour 3 eggs 50 g raisins 50 g nuts |
1 sachet of baking powder 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda fat and flour to line the baking tin icing sugar for dusting the finished pie |
Instructions:
Peel and core the apples, cut into slices, sprinkle with sugar and set aside for 30 minutes. Then add the other ingredients, mix well and press the dough into a baking tin. Bake for around 30 minutes in a medium oven (around 160 °C). Let the pie cool, then cut into slices and dust with icing sugar. Serve decorated with fruit, drenched in fruit syrup or coated in whipped cream or chocolate sauce.
NB:
If you want to have a dessert fit for a special occasion, add a little oil, cocoa and milk to the dough.
