When enjoying a beer with friends it’s always good to have a snack to hand which you can munch on at your leisure. What better accompaniment to the amber nectar than these beer flavoured dough rings? And don’t be afraid of overdoing it – you won’t get a hangover from eating too many of these!
Ingredients:
| 500 g medium flour around 250 ml weak beer 30 g yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 100 g oil or fat |
ground pepper salt flour for dusting the rolling pin egg white caraway or sesame seeds |
Instructions:
Put the flour into a dish and make an indentation in the middle. Into this place the crumbled yeast, sugar and a small amount of tepid beer. Cover the dish with a tablecloth and leave to rise in a warm place.
When the mixture has risen, add some salt, oil (or fat), a pinch of pepper and the rest of the tepid beer. Work into a soft dough which you again should leave in a warm place to rise.
Then cut the dough into small pieces and roll out into rings. Place these onto a baking tray, brush with egg white, sprinkle with sesame or caraway seeds and bake.
