Smoked meat and mince loaf - recipe

Those with a weakness for mince will certainly be bowled over by this blend of all three kinds of meat, baked in the oven on a bed of root vegetables. These sensational meat loaves are given their wonderful aroma by smoked meat and are best served with mashed potatoes. Wash it all down with a mug of buttermilk and you’ll be transported back to your grandmother’s cottage kitchen in no time!
Ingredients:
| 400 g beef mince 100 g pork mince 300 g minced and smoked neck 50 g bread rolls milk for soaking the bread rolls salt ground pepper |
100 g oil 200 g carrots 200 g celery 250 g onion stock parsley |
Instructions:
Mix together the mince meat and add the rolls soaked in milk. Sprinkle with salt and pepper mix together and shape into loaves.
Fry the roughly chopped onion and vegetables in the oil. Place the loaves onto this mixture, pour over a little stock and roast in the oven. Pour over more stock during roasting.
Serve alongside the vegetables and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Serve with:
mashed potatoes
