Potato cakes with smoked meat - recipe

Similar recipes for delicious potato cakes can be found in many other regions of the country. Essential ingredients include potatoes, marjoram and garlic, but other components and the amounts in which they figure differ wildly from household to household. There are even some who prefer baking them in the oven over frying. But they’re always best when hot!
Ingredients:
| 300-400 g raw potatoes 150-200 g boiled potatoes 150g smoked meat (shoulder) 2 eggs 100 g medium flour |
crushed pepper marjoram caraway seeds salt fat or oil |
Instructions:
Grate the raw peeled potatoes and the boiled potatoes into a bowl. Add the eggs, flour and smoked meat chopped into pieces. Add salt, spices and mix together well. Then form pancakes in the pan, in which you have heated up the fat or oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
