Homemade meatloaf - recipe

If you can achieve the delicate balance of ingredients, you’re well on your way to rustling up a dish that tastes just as good on a plate in the company of potatoes and gherkins as it does between two slices of bread for your mid-morning snack.
Ingredients:
| 1 kg minced meat (3/4 kg pork, 1/4 kg beef) 1 small, finely chopped onion 4 cloves garlic, crushed 3 eggs a little water 2 soaked and drained bread rolls |
60 g diced bacon salt pepper marjoram breadcrumbs or fine flour to thicken |
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients into a compact dough. The water helps to bind the mixture. Contour into a cone shape (or two smaller cones) and place onto a greased roasting tin. Pour a little water into the bottom of the tin and place in the oven to roast. Basting occasionally in water and meat juices, roast until golden.
