Shrovetide celebrations aren’t just about meat, wine and spirits; there are also sweet dishes to be enjoyed. All food prepared at this time of year has to be pretty tasty and this recipe certainly won’t disappoint.
Ingredients:
| 250 g fine flour 2 egg yolks 1 tablespoon icing sugar 200 g fat |
a little milk pinch of baking powder salt |
Instructions:
Work the flour, egg yolks, a pinch of soli, baking powder and sugar into a dough. If the dough is too dense, loosen with a drop of milk. Knead until the dough is smooth and doesn’t stick. Leave for around an hour in a cool place, then roll out into a thin sheet and cut into squares or triangles. Fry in hot oil, drain off the excess fat, dust with icing sugar and serve.
