Bread roll dumplings with mushrooms - recipe

Leaven, potato, bread roll… yes, these are just a few types of the Czech signature dish – dumplings. In this recipe dumplings are combined with freshly picked mushrooms.
Ingredients:
| 8 rolls 4 eggs 200 g freshly picked mushrooms 150 g wholemeal flour 0.4 l milk |
pinch of baking powder salt caraway seeds parsley |
Instructions:
Dice up some stale rolls and leave to dry out. Cut the mushrooms into small pieces and boil for a short while in salted water. Mix the eggs, mushrooms, milk, chopped parsley and flour into a porridge-like consistency, add salt and sprinkle with a few caraway seeds. Then mix in the baking powder and the chopped rolls. Roll the dough into spherical dumplings and coat in wholemeal flour. Cook in salted water for 10 – 15 minutes. Serve with mushroom sauce.
