Beef in marjoram - recipe

Marjoram has been used in kitchens since time immemorial, and it is a firm favourite among Czech cooks. In this recipe it is employed to infuse beef with its aromas.
Ingredients:
| 600 g beef rump steak 1 small onion 100 g butter marjoram |
salt pepper stock |
Instructions:
Chop up the onion into rings and leave to sweat down in butter. Slice the rump steak into strips, season with salt and pepper and add to the pan. Fry on all sides, add the spices and marjoram (rubbed to extract more flavour), pour in the stock and simmer until soft. Serve with baked potato cakes.
