Eastern Moravia
The tourist regions in this part of the country are so diverse that they would each need a chapter to themselves. The Wallach Region is a mountainous and forested area with distinctive folk architecture, which has been preserved for future generations at the openair museum in Rožnov. Fertile Slovácko with its amazing costumed celebrations is rich in vineyards, sunny weather and countless castles and chateaux.
Let yourself be charmed by the beauty of the ‘Haná Athens', as Kroměříž is known. The town has monuments that feature in UNESCO's list of World Cultural Heritage Sites - the Archbishop's Palace, the Květná Garden and the Podzámecká Garden. Enjoy a trip down a waterway named in honour of shoe magnate Tomáš Baťa, a name closely linked with the history of Zlín. And don't overlook Luhačovice, the finest spa in Moravia with its Art Nouveau buildings by the famous architect Dušan Jurkovič, the essential colonnade and, of course, mineral-rich springs with curative properties.

Archbishop’s Palace and gardens in Kroměříž
The Renaissance chateau was the residence of the archbishop of Olomouc until 1948. The Early Baroque Květná Garden and the later Podzámecká Garden fi gure along with the palace on UNESCO’s list of World Cultural Heritage Sites.
Luhačovice
Six natural springs and tens of drilled sources rise in this spa town, the best known of which is the Vincentka. Dušan Jurkovič is responsible for designing several Art Nouveau properties in the town in the early 20th century.
Buchlovice chateau
This architectural gem in the Italian Baroque style is surrounded by wonderful terraced gardens and an English-style park. One of the symbols of the chateau are fuchsia, with the collection here boasting 1,200 species.
Wallach Open-Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm
The oldest open-air museum in central Europe is divided into three parts – the Wallach Village, the Mill Valley and the Timber Town. The museum comes alive during the various folk-themed events that take place there, including the Rožnov Celebrations and the Wallach Fair.
Velehrad
The Baroque Basilica of the Assumption and SS Cyril and Methodius is the most important pilgrimage destination in the country. The Cistercian monastery in the Late Romanesque style with Early Gothic elements was the fi rst to be founded in Moravia.
